I agree with you
by now, what I do is :
1°) do a regular 1st pass
2°) in GK, adjust the desired file-size (afterwards) so that the compressibility test give me the percentage wanted (for instance 60 %)
3°) do a regular 2nd pass

I can bear it by now...
