I'm seeing the same thing.
AVATAR BRD-> MKV via MakeMKV
Extract subs using mkvextract (from mkvtoolnix)
The full sub set work (IE: the regular dialog and descriptive text)
The other track, which is just the na'avi, causes a thrown exception.
