DVD Decryptor, DVD Shrink, and Windows Explorer all using my computer's drive claim the disk is empty, but Dedicated DVD players, and, strangely, my computers drive using Power DVD can play this disk. I get the same quirkyness with my LG SuperMulti drive, and my friends new Pioneer drive.
What the heck is going on????????????? :confused:
Thanks, -Jesse

1) What type of disc is it - DVD or CD?
2) Is it a commercial, pressed disc or a burned disc?
3) What is the title?
4) If DVD, what is the Region?

Sounds very similar to the unfinalized disc in the thread right next to this one. :)

As I posted in the thread referred to by "movax", try using the tool in DVD Decrypter to finalize the DVD...

Thanks Setarip and MOVAX, I used Decryptor, and Tools-Close-Disk, the lights on my drive blinked but decryptor still reported the disc as blank. So then I Tools-Close-Session and then Tools-Close-Track, but still decryptor reported blank. But now shrink began to read the disc. Unfortunately, shrink hungup due to 'cyclic redundancy', so I reopened decryptor, and now all of a sudden decryptor sees the data on the disc (no more empty). Well I am trying to create an ISO, I hope decryptor doesnt hang like shrink did!

Setarip_old: decryptor gave me four errors when ripping to ISO, and I selected ignore for each of them. remarkably, decryptor created an ISO, which it burned to make a working disc. Thanks for your guidance.
decryptor reports that disc is not rewritable. Apparently, one can close a disc that has already been burned to even if it is not a rewritable. this disc was a -r.
also, do you know what 'cyclic redundancy' errors are, and how to deal with them???
feedback: thanks for your guidance, i will follow rule 9 next time with no caps. sorry.

Cyclic Redunancy Checks (CRC) verify data to indicate corruption. Failed CRCs indicate corruption. More information, read the Wikipedia article on it.

@baljs53
Thanks for your guidance.
My pleasure ;>}

A CRC error indicates that there's either a problem with the physical DVD (scratched, dirty, Peanut Butter and Jelly) - or "ARccOS" copy protection, that your program cannot resolve. First, try cleaning the DVD...
