Hi guys,
Just wondering is there any software or utilty that actually tests output quality of encoded avi file to dvd??Im in the process of using different applications to encode and then convert to dvd format but am having trouble determining which one is better quality.First test I did was encode using nerovision 3.1 with all settings set to highest quality and then publish with same software.Second test I did was use tmpgenc xpress to encode same avi file and then publish with nero.To me its very hard too see any differences.Everything I have read people have said to stay clear of nerovision for encoding but Im yet to see why.Very interested what you guys think.

Thanks

let your eyes be the judge. nobody can tell you what looks better for you. :)

traditionally VCD and SVCD encoding with the Nero encoder has been pretty average in the past so thats where it comes from. however if you are encoding to DVD you also have to consider what bitrate it is encoding to. if its encoding to a high bitrate then most encoders quality should be very similar. its once you start lowering the bitrate that you are likely to see more differences so you can pick what you prefer.
