Is it possible to play the 'NullSoft Video format and AOL Ultravox protocol' with MPC?
It is used in Winamp to look there TV stations (Winamp Shoutcast Format).

Life Stream example: GigaTv - http://broadcast.giga.de:80/;stream.nsv

Second question:
Is it possible to get a list of offered Winamp/Shoutcast TV streams which you get listed in Winamp-Media Libary in an alternative way? For radio stations Shoutcast has a page, but nor for tv streams.

You can play SHOUTcast in Media Player Classic with Winamp Alternative (http://www.winampalt.de.vu). For NSV streams there's no cure. But I'm sure someone will create an NSV Splitter and the buggy winamp might be replaced  .

As for the "AOL Ultravox protocol", if this is unsv://, that's not a stream protocol. That's the good old http :D :D :D

NSV Splitter would be great. Perhaps Gabest is doing one sometime.
Thanks for your help again.

No need for that bloated Winamp Alternative crap to play SHOUTcast streams.

All you need is the SHOUTcast source filter made by Gabest:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/

A BLOATED codecs pack???? Winamp is bloated, but the codec pack is as bloated as K-Lite and FFDShow :D

Yes bloated. It contains stuff that isn't needed or isn't useful at all. It still doesn't allow you to play nsv files in MPC or WMP or whatever. So only the SHOUTcast filter is actually useful.

And for playing music your alternative isn't very useful either. MPC is great for movies, but not for music.

Winamp is a fine (music) player if you install and configure it properly.

I see...But if AOL Ultravox is not stream, then what could be a stream protocol for AOL?

I wanna play NSV and protocol AOL (http://www.driversupdate.org/protocol-aol.htm) in MPC. :(

That is not quite right, it _can_ contain metadata, and some servers do not even support the plain http fallback so you'll always end up with metadata at regular intervals that makes the files completely unplayable.
For reference, MPlayer (mplayerhq.hu) should be able to play all these, anyone who wants to implement it can look at the code (at least as long as the reimplementation is GPL they can also reuse it).
