Now that AutoGK needs direct VOB link, I wanted to ask that what is the difference between "copying" files from DVD to hard disk and decrypting them using lets say dvddecrypter

Please read and follow the forum rules, specifically rule 9: use a proper thread title. Yours could have been "What's the difference between copying files and decrypting them?"

Encrypted (copy protected) DVD files are not readable unless they are decrypted. If you copy them to your hard drive, they are still encrypted and are not readable by decoders that lack a decrypting engine. When you rip the files you decrypt them and store them on the hard disk without the protection, so any old MPEG2 decoder can read them.
