Hi, i face several problems which i am unable to see some DVD titles that I bought long time ago. Is a Dual Layer Disc.

So, ANYONE can teach me How to Internally modify a sensitive of computer Sony DVD Roms 16X ??? Model : DDU 1621

Wow..... too much file for SONY DDU 1621, i dont know which one i have to choose ? i also cant try every one because Bad Falshing will destroy the drive COMPLETELY !!!

Just curious - Do these commercial DVDs still play properly on your standalone DVD player?

Have you tried cleaning these discs?

Have you tried running a DVD/CD cleaning disc on your SONY? Maxell makes one that sells for approximately $10US

Hem....... those Commercial DVD 9 Dual Layer that cant play in my PC sony DDU1621 BUT can play in my Pioneer standalone DVD Player. I guest it is because most of the standalone DVD Player have the so call " Progressive Scan " features and my PC Sony DVD Roms doesn't have, am I right ???

For the cleaning these disc DVD 9 Dual Layer, I am used a soft clothe and DIDN'T found any Physical damage on the Top or Bottom of the DISC.

I didnt try with the DVD/CD cleaning because I feel that the Cleaning Disc may Scratch the Laser Head. Thus, other DVD D9 Dual Layer Disc can play in my Sony DDU 1621 without having any problem.

May be I have to mentioned this........... those DVD 9 Dual Layer Disc are can't play Meaning when I insert those DISC, it happen 2 senarios :

1. totally can't detected the D( Disc at ALL. (there is no intermitance happen i mean for this DISC only)

2. can detected, can saw the 2 Directory of DISC. But unable to RUN. (there is no intermitance happen i mean for this DISC only)

I'd try cleaning and polishing the problem disks. Upgrading the firmware isn't necessary to read pressed DVD-9s.

No, that should have no bearing on the ability to playback the DVD on your PC...
