View Full Version : Conflict between Nero and Music Match when backing up with DVD Shrink

When I re-author and back up a movie using DVD Shrink, it normally starts Nero to do the burning. I also have Music Match on my computer for music, and if I haven't started Music Match before DVD Shrink calls up Nero, Music Match starts by itself and ruins the disc Nero has started burning. I frequently forget to start Music Match when I'm using DVD Shrink, so I end up with a lot of coasters. How can I get Music Match to cease and desist short of having to start it up all the time? Or is there a better solution? Thanks

Might check to see what windows is set to use (autoopen) when DVD inserted.

If you use Music Match infrequently, could rename the folder so windows can't find it to start -- then rename it to use Musicmatch.

Might check to see what files Musicmatch opens by default association, and change or stop those. Also check for any Musicmatch programs or services starting with windows. Suppose could even modify shortcut to start Shrink so it also starts Musicmatch.

mic, thanks for your possible solutions. I have tried a few things but settled on turning off the "auto insert notification" that tells the CD/DVD player that there's a disc in it. Now that I've done that, DVD Shrink won't even start Nero for backup :( Don't know why, but even after I went back to the original configuration, DVD Shrink just deposits a sets of files in a directory and tells me to burn when I'm ready, still won't start `Nero anymore... (I do have "Use Nero to burn" checked). Looks like I'll have to work on this one for a while. In the meantime, I'll use DVD Decrypter to encode an ISO file and burn that for me.

But do you have your burner selected as the "Target Drive"?

setarip_old, I had to search for your solution, but found it when I went to DVD Shrink's "backup" menu. It was the answer for why I wasn't getting burning with Nero, but I also reralized I could also go directly to DVD Decrypter to create an ISO file and burn it using the correct "target drive." Thanks. Now I can burn anyway I prefer :) And de-selecting "auto insert notification" seems to have taken care of my MusicMatch problem as well.
