According to Clubic.com a french Website, the next revision of Nero Digital with High Profile supprot will go out October 10th. We can see this news with this link.

Would be nice to see a translation to this...

The article doesn't mention explicitly anything about "High Profile". Of course hopefully it will be included in the codec.

there's not a single word about the NeroDigital in that article

My language skills arent up to par but it does look like Vision Express 4 will be released along with Nero 7. So it looks like it will be forced upgrade costs for those that want HP AVC encoding. I hope I am wrong.

ccompagné d'un nouveau moteur de gravure qui devrait être prêt pour l'HD-DVD(wiki) et le Blu-Ray(wiki),

Intersting. Any chance this means we will get to finally see the ability to author some HD-DVD/Blu Ray discs similar to what Apple offers with their DVD Studio Pro 4?

ccompagné d'un nouveau moteur de gravure qui devrait être prêt pour l'HD-DVD(wiki) et le Blu-Ray(wiki), means: accompanied by a new burning engine which should be ready for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray.
And since both those formats can use MPEG-2 video encoding, that's no indication whatsoever for an improved NeroDigital.

Darn. I would hope those that beta tested would get their copies before the official release date but heck, I dont even think we current testers have been informed that the beta is even over.

Maybe Bobolo or John V could shed some light on this for us.

there's not a single word about the NeroDigital in that article
"Nero Digital devrait proposer un codec de compression plus puissant avec une meilleure qualité et un taux de compression plus élevé."

which means:

"Nero DIGITAL should offer a more powerful codec with better quality and higher compression ratio."

It doesn't necessarily mean HP.

DVDSP4 doesn't support HP playback :X i tried authoring a disc with Empire Falls @ 720p but it requres the video be encoded at 59.9xx fps

Apparently the demo will be made available under the community section on nero for registered users. Where is the login page for the community section? Does anyone know?

If asked.... I'm sure some of our NeroDigital forum members will be able to shed more positive light on this situation ;)

Cheers

I hope so because it wont let me re-register my serial again. You would think they would have a login link or box. But I see nothing.

"Nero Digital devrait proposer un codec de compression plus puissant avec une meilleure qualité et un taux de compression plus élevé."

They have talked about Nero Digital in the second paragraph of this news. And they said so the next Nero Digital offers a better image quality and better compression, like we can see in the beta of Ateme, the picture is better than before and the compression will be better with the specifications of High profile.

Still doesn't mean HP. because even the beta testers like me haven't reviewed a RC as we still had issues with the filtering and interlaced encoding in the last beta test so there were still issues to work out. But we'll just have to wait for an official announcement to be sure.

it seems there will be another beta for the ateme codec, so the codec might not be final atm (which doesnt of course mean that on 10th october it will not be final too)

I think you're alright, so the next release of Nero Digital should not include the final version of Ateme encoder, maybe they must release the new encoder for the next big nero burning version and there will be some issues like filtering or interlaced encoding, but for more informations, we must ask some questions at bobololo and JohnV.
