Do you want to re-encode, or just create DVD layout using original? Also: http://www.svcd2dvdmpg.com/

SVCD2DVDMPG does not seem to support .vcd files. The disks I have are VCDs not SVCDs.

.vcd? it should be .mpg (or an image format)
svcd2dvdmpg should work with vcd, too
an other option would tmpgenc dvd author

*Many* (not all) DVD players will handle VCD playback. If yours will, then it's possible all you have to do is take your audio & video and use them instead of mpg2 in creating a DVD layout for burning. It will not be in DVD spec, but often works. I'd suggest videohelp.com -- start with conversions on the left, and you'll get guides that spell out how to extract your video & audio. [like this one: http://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/141726.php#vcd] Then go up top on the page and in the drop down for conversion, select VCD to DVD... You'll get several guides that detail how to get the files you extracted included in a DVD layout you can burn, and hopefully watch. :)

the extension .vcd is wrong, i've never seen it or heard of it
also vcd video is dvd specs compliant
only the audio has to be resampled to 48khz

thanks guys i found the answer on videohlep.com. Apparently Isobuster does the trick
and extenstion .vcd is not wrong. the disks play fine in DVD player. I have seen extension .vcd since 90s. It was big before they invented DVD

erm, we know what VCDs are
it's just that .vcd is not a file extension
if you need isobuster the correct extension is most likely .iso or .bin
the result should be an .mpg

The actual videofile contained on a VCD has an extender of ".DAT"
