Hi, I've been using AutoGK for some time now, but this is the first time I've seen this error.

"there are too many ifo files"

There's the video_ts one and one for each VOB file (4)

How do I get around this error? Do I have to ifoEdit a new ifo file from the multiple VOBs? or what would be my next step.

Cheers,

Rollie

:-Edited because I noticed that I've done much more reading than posting...

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

I'm guessing that you used DVD Decrypter in File mode. Use IFO mode, as per the AGK tutorial and the Doom9 guide.

Thanks for the welcome.

I scratched the DVD so badly that it cannot be read anymore, thank goodness I made a backup.

Any recourse with the files, ifos and vobs the way they are, or is it messing around with ifoedit for me?

thanks.

Yes, you could move the VTS containing the movie, along with its IFO, to another folder and try again.

However, there's at least a fair chance the VTS will contain other things besides just the movie you want. First, open all the vobs contained in that VTS in DGIndex and check. You'll be looking to see if there are any warnings or other crap before the movie begins, and any other stuff, such as extras, after the movie ends.

One alternative might be to make an Image file of the whole thing, mount it in Daemon Tools, and then use DVD Decrypter again, in IFO Mode this time, to decrypt the movie off of the virtual drive.

Another choice would be to use VstripGUI to get an IFO-parsed rip. Doom9 has a guide (http://www.doom9.org/vstrip.htm).

or use latest AutoGK if you're sure that a VTS contains everything you need...
