View Full Version : Subtitle problem with AutoGK

Hello!
I use current AutoGK latest version.
If I rip a DVD with DVDDecrypter, I rip always all of audio and subtitle tracks.
AutoGK can find the audio streams, but the subtitle tracks are invisible for AutoGK (message: no subtitle).
The subtitles can be found in the ripped vob file really, with Subrip or Vobsub I can extract them.
I tried add my own external subtitles (tracks in ssa and sub format), but, I can't add them.
Second problem: if I rip a full DVD with DVDDecrypter, and I choose the DVD input option in AutoGK, the program send an error message: Ifo parsing failed.
How can I solve these problems?
Thanks:
Gabor

I believe you have to extract the subs for AutoGK yourself, but I'm not certain as I haven't used it in a long time.
Are you ripping the DVD in IFO* mode?
*Edit: said ISO, meant IFO.

You should rip the DVD in IFO mode to get the subtitles recognized by AGK.

Hi Molngab,
were you able to figure this out? I am also having the same problem.
I use DVD Decrypter, ripping the files with IFO mode. I have no problems encoding any files with AutoGK, I am just not able to see the subs (i.e. it states no subtitles). I'm working on trying to figure this out myself as well.

I've also previously experienced issues with encoding Subtitles with AGK, however have been able to successfully solve or workaround them with the following.
Always rip in IFO mode in DVD Decrypter (as mentioned above)*
Always rip all subtitle streams (as a minimum rip all streams up to and including the subtitle stream you wish to include. e.g. subtitle you want is the third one listed, you must also rip the first and second). This ensures that the subtitle doesn't end up in a different "slot" than where AGK will be looking for it.
A limitation of AGK is that it appears only to be able to automatically encode the subtitles if the source was located in the first PGC of the DVD VTS. If the content is not in the first PGC of the VTS (see screenshot below of a TV episode disc with 4 episodes in the one VTS), then you need to extract the subtitles manually first using VobSub Configure (installed with AGK), and then in AGK press Ctrl-F8 to enable you to select external subs. Simply select the .idx file created by Vobsub and your ripped subs will be encoded correctly during the AGK processing.
Hope this is of some help.

* Having said always rip in IFO mode, I admit I also frequently rip in File mode, if, and only if, my source/s in the DVD are in separate VTS's with only one PGC in each.

Thank you for the tip zacoz. I will try it out and see how it works.
Here is a link on how to rip the subs (for those of you that don't know how, like me :)
