Hello! Excuse me for a newbie question. Is Divx bitstream syntax compilant with ISO MPEG4 standard? If not - is it possible to get a DIVX bitstream syntax description for free (for educational purposes)?

It is but it also contains some "workarounds" for the Video For Windows interface (search for Packed Bitstream).

As far as I understood, packed bitstream is the way how frames are packed in AVI file. If I extract a DIVX bitstream from AVI - will there be any difference between packed and not packed? As far as I understand - no. Am I right?
