bullitB wrote a nice wrapper which makes using x264 possible in qt7 on macos! so apple people are not limited to apples crappy avc encoder anymore :D
get it here (https://developer.berlios.de/projects/x264qtcodec/)
if someone wants to make a port for qt7 on windows this would rock!
enjoy

Alright thanks. I think I'm gonna give AutoAC a try since I figured out it's audio synce problems.

Is even the source on that site? I just see "This Project Has Not Released Any Files." I would certainly be interested in getting more out of Quicktime than I can with their native encoder.

Yes, you have to checkout the source from the svn.

(I'm the current author of the wrapper)
The source is in the project subversion repository. I don't have time to work on the wrapper right now tho. If someone would like to contribute, get a BerliOS account and let me know what it is, I'll add you to the project.
You should be able to check out the tree already, tho.

Bond don't you said once that the quality of QT encoder is good (and I can conferm it too). And about the speed the Apple users have the same problem of the windows ones??? Anyway it will be excellent to have it on Windows, but the problem is that you have to use the mov container, right? No MP4 output (ok, you can output a mov with AVC+AAC and then export it as MP4, but it's boring...).

Bond don't you said once that the quality of QT encoder is good (and I can conferm it too).quality is not that bad
And about the speed the Apple users have the same problem of the windows ones???no idea how its on mac, but on windows the speed is totally inacceptable
