Here is a new tool by Almi (I hope he will register soon to the board)

x26 (x-to-six) Re-streamer (http://needfulthings.c-f-h.com/tools/item.php?id=43)

Comments are welcome.

Description: creation of multichannel audio files (6 mono files or a
single 6ch file) from various multichannel wave files, up to 6 channels,
with options for resampling - using SSRC - and cd-style cuesheet creation.

Why x26?
Sounds is going beyond 2.0 aka stereo and while there are tons of tools for
work with stereo audio files, support of native audio multichannel files
for eiting or encoding is terribly low. Many times you can work with your
favorite audio editor with a 6channel wave file and when every track of
your project is ok you need to disassemble all the channels of all tracks
and or encode file by file for every track or combine togheter all the
tracks of a given channel.
x26 was born to avoid all this mess - a little example can shed a light: a
15-track disc of 6-channel audio will end in 90 single mono files, all that
must be combined correctly in order to produce the desired result.

What x26 do?
x26 do only three thing:
1) given source and destination, sort and split the multiple multichannel
files in the source drectory to single mono ones, then join togheter all
the single files of a specific channel to a single audio stream, and do
this for all the channels present in the source files, up to 99 tracks and
6 channels.

2) if desired, resample of the original source files to a given sample
rate (44100 for CD, 48000 for DVD) with a uniform bit-depth (16 or 24 bit).

3) creation of a cd-style cue sheet with track points.

x26 does NOT decode or encode *anything*, just accept multichannel wave
files on input and create or mono or multichannel files on output.
It's just a little tiny tool that can be useful to save time and
confusion on dealing with multichannel wave files.

Whetever you want to create a Dolby Digital, DTS, WMA, Flac, MLP, DSD
multichannel audio disc you may need a tool that suits your encoder that
requires separate mono files or a big single 6ch file. If this is your problem,
x26 is for you.

If you like to use ssrc_hp.exe instead of ssrc.exe, just rename it.
