I have experienced strange problem when trying to create DVD using mpeg-1 files ripped from VCDs. I have got many VCDs, which I now want to backup on DVD with custom created menus etc. I usually used Isobuster for ripping and then TMPGEnc DVDAuthor for creating my DVD.

But approx. 30% of the video files Isobuster outputs (I tried also VCDEasy and VCDGear but nothing changes) appear problematic. When I playback final dvd from hdd using PowerDVD there is no problem at all, but when I try to watch this dvd on standalone, video loops over and over in a small segment (for example, first minute of video loops over and over, if I skip this first minute then same thing happens even further into the video every minute or so). it is annoying because I just dont know how to get rid of this problem.
When I open up it in DVDAuthor and choose to cut a part from mpg file, on timeline instead of consequtive sequence of frames from video (every GOP i guess) only around 1 frame for every 5-15 seconds appears. Is there any problem with timestamps in these mpg files then?

If I reencode these mpg files before authoring in ProCoder, problem disappears but quality of the video becomes lower even in Mastering mode in PCoder. Is there any possibility to fix such problem without reencoding?

Thanks in advance for any possible help.
