I'm trying to encode a 16:9 aspect program that was broadcast in a 4:3 format. I can't seem to get autogk to crop the black bars. I know that about the first 1 or 2 seconds of the broadcast are in 4:3 and the TV station probably through there logo up a couple of times. So, there is some content in the black bar part of the broadcast. I don't care if that stuff gets cropped. Shouldn't I be able to get autogk to look at more that just that first couple of frames before deciding on what to crop? Alternatively, can I force how much is cropped?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this.
Richard

Nevermind. I found my answer after going back and refining my search through the forums. :(

I found that by
1) increasing the autocrop threshold to 75,
2) selecting ITU method, and
3) forcing the AR to 16:9

I get exactly what I want.

Hope this helps someone else.
