I have movie with 5 channel AC3. I've made six waves with BeSweet and SR wave is completely empty.

What is the right way to make 5.1 AC3?

Remember the channel order in Ac3 and wav:

Num
Ac3 cha Wav
--- --- ---
FL 0 FL
C 1 FR
FR 2 C
SL 3 LFE
SR 4 SL
LFE 5 SR

In SR.wav you have the LFE channel (only FL is ok). Is empty because is a ac3 5.0.

You can make a ac3 5.1 with the LFE channel empty, but for what?

You can extract all low frecuency (<120 Hz) and make a new LFE channel, but for what?. All audio equipments can redirect low frecuency to the subwoofer.

Remain with your original ac3 5.0.

agree with post above!
I don't see any use of wasting space for an empty channel, not to mention quality reduction due to reencoding!

What's the problem with 5.0?
Redirection of low frequencies is done by your receiver if you'd like to.

One way would be to import ft stereo into Vegas (v 4+), select 5.1 for audio in project properties, in surround mixer at header for track select LFE, render wav mono 48/16.

Hi AlexeyS

Out of interest, what tool/tools did you use to determine your AC3 stream contains 5 channels and not 6?

Cheers

Nero ShowTime 2 software player shows 5 channel audio. Nero Recode shows 5 channel audio too.

By the way, mono waves after BeSweet's AC3 >>mono waves is just noise (SR is empty).

Can't argue with that!
