is there any way to fix a flicking subtitle? I am making my subtitle with MaestroSBT which has a very good antialiasing and many features to make the subtitle. but some of Persian letter or something like dash ( - ) will have slight flickering, I dont know if its because of persian words but the english subtitle will show up fine.
any help is highly appreciated

I'm really guessing, but in general you don't want fine (thin) horiz lines on an interlaced screen -- every time one set of lines is refreshed, the other goes dim. I'd suggest trying to find a bolder &/or thicker font first.
If it helps...
Normally this is fixed in 3 ways -- adding more or thicker feathered shadow, making lines thicker (thicker fonts) -- watching carefully what colors are used (very pure or saturated colors, and certain colors themselves). Color is often overlooked, but it can cause the electrical signal to a TV to exceed limits and cause distortions. Off (not pure) white and very pale yellow are popular.
