I want to add a second mp3 audio track to an avi. This should be possible with Avidemux if the second audio track is mp3 cbr, but it doesn't work for me: audio/video desyncs. Avimerge is not able too, nor mencoder. Any sugestion? And for a second mp3 vbr track?

Thanks in advance.

mplex -f 8 -o film_nosubs.mpg film.m2v english.ac3 french.ac3 german.ac3

My reference for this is:

The above sample command line is for ac3 audio format and mpg video format, but I don't think thats an obstacle if your end product is a DVD? Or is it?

The porpuose is watching this film on the TV with a DVD/Divx player, so container must be avi, and audio mp3. That's the problem. I used to do it in Windows with Virtualdubmod.
