Hello!
I'm having a small problem, I'm trying to export some PAL DV-footage from Premiere Pro to DivX via FrameServer and VirtualDub.

When I select the DivX 6 Codec in VirtualDub for compression and save the AVI I can see in the DivX status window that it's processing the movie.

But the finished AVI-file is empty! Just black! I can hear the sound, and the movie has the correct resolution, 720x576, but it's completly empty and black. Can anyone help me?

I have also tried to save the DV-AVI from Premiere first and the open it in VirtualDub and then encode, same result.

PS. I can't select DivX directly when exporting video from Premiere, it simply isn't there.

What codec settings did you select? I ask because if DivX was configured for n-pass encoding but you only did a single encoding pass, there will be only a "dummy" .avi file produced.

You are correct, it was configured "n-pass" whatever that means.

Thank you!

To find out what it means, see the various tutorials and guides at http://www.divx.com/divx/create/divxpro/guides/

OK, thanks! I have read everything and think I understand now, I also got the multipass thing working after reading the guides. Thanks again!
