yesterday i downloaded a linux distro ( legal stuff) in form of an iso-file.
This iso-file had a size of 8 gb. This made it impossible to burn with nero, even with overburn enabled.
Someone told me that the file possibly then was made for dual layer dvds.

Unfortunately i dont have a duallayer dvd-burner and this then is a problem for me.

Therefore i wonder, is it possible in some way, to "convert" a dual layer dvd into 2 dvd-r ? And that if afterwards is possible to boot from also?

Hopefully some of you can answer me on this.

Best regards

You are describing a data disc. It can't be "shrunk" like a video disc.

There are tools (such as daemontools) to allow you to mount your .iso as a virtual disc ... but I recommend that instead of wasting your time, you should just contact your linux distribution support organization for information on which are the proper .iso files to download for your single layer burner.
