Let me start by saying - I am a newbie.
I have been using DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 & DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 together for months with no problems - until a couple of weeks ago (beginning of Aug 2005). I can use DVD shrink and save to the hard drive, but when I go to write to a blank DVD with Decrypter, I get the following error message:

I/O Error!

Device: [1:1:0] Philips DVD+RW DVD8601 6D11 (E:) (ATA)

Can anyone help me understand what is happening and why I can’t burn to a blank DVD? Thank you to anyone in advance for any help you can give me.

@Sampson

Hi!

Have you recently started using a new batch of burnable media?

setarip -

No. I have been using the same dvds to burn. Memorex DVD+R 120min, 4.7 GB, 8X. Should I try a new type of recordable dvds?

We did just have digital phone added to our cable service and they had to put a new modem in with our roadrunner. They said it shouldn't be the problem. I disabled the modem to see if that was causing it, but it didn't change anything.

1) If this problem has thusfar occurred with only one specific .ISO image file, try burning a previously successful one

Otherwise

2) As an experiment, try using a different burning program to burn anything (It doesn't have to be an .ISO image) to see if the same problem results

3) You might try running a DVD/CD cleaning disc on your burner. Maxell makes one that sells for approximately $10US

Setarip - I tried burning a successful one and it didn't work. I will get a cleaning disc and also try a new burning program.

Do you recommend a certain burning program? Can you help me with what some others are that I should look into? I would also need to be able to find instructions on how to use them.

Thanks much!

Do you recommend a certain burning program?

No. Using ANY other burning program will simply help determine where your difficulty may lie...
