NeroDigital + PSP

I have tried using both the Nero Recode method and the DVDDecrypter/SimpleDivX/3GP_Converter method to convert dvd files to the mp4 format for playback on the PSP. I have found using the 3GP method, when I have the DVD transferred onto the PSP, when viewing I can use the PSP's zoom feature to completely fill the PSP's display. When I use Nero Recode(for the same DVD) I can not get the picture to fill the screen, it appears more like a widescreen movie when on the PSP's Zoom setting and all of the other 3 settings normal, widescreen and original are smaller. As it is easier for me to use Nero Recode I would appericate any assistance in getting this right. I have checked all of the settings in Recode and have tried various parameters with the "Custom Crop" setting to no avail. Anyone know why this is or am I missing something. Why is the output file from 3GP different from Recodes although both are for the same device and for a 320x240 setting.

Sorry, first post although I would have thought this had more to do with the MP4 format than it has to do with "New and alternative video codecs". Whatever can be said about Nerodigital/Recode, what can't be said is that it is new or alternative.

Cheers leowai, thanks for the link, downloading it as I type. Hopefully it will give me some insight into my specific problem. To date I've been using DVDDecrypter with the demo version of IPSP which gives pretty good results. Can fit 2x2 hour movies of v.good quality onto a 1Gig memory stick. However as I have paid for the Nero suite of products and Nero Recode is a 1 click option I would like to use Nero and would except for the problem as outlined above.
