I am using RB 1.00RC5 and CCE Basic 2.70.1.4. I am curious to understand what the "Speed" value represents during the encoding process. I have attached a jpeg of the pop-up CCE screen I am asking about. :thanks:

That's the multiple of playback time based upon the frame rate that was fed to CCE. So in your example it would take about 1 minute to encode 3.56 minutes of video. So if you were encoding a clip that has 23.976 frames per second (standard progressive film on NTSC), you are encoding at 85.35 frames per second.

It's also important to remember that unlike most other encoders CCE measures 'speed' against a single pass, so if your doing 1 minute of video and your speed is 1.0 it will take 1 minute per pass. If your speed is 2.0 it will take 30 seconds per pass.

JDobbs and wmansir, thank you for the answers.
