Can any tell me why such a high amount of space is being reported as reserved system space? I am using Windows 2000 SP4. I am completely clueless as to why this is even possible. The partition size is 125GB.

NT "reserve" 12% of your drive for the MFT. If your HDD gets full, those "reserve" will be filled with your data and the % will decrease.

You can find a technical explanation of the MFT here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;174619
