I'm trying to convert a MKV file with a Divx 5.2.1 avi with 2 AC3 audio tracks.

I've decompiled the mkv file so I have a 23.97fps avi and 2 ac3 tracks. I've converted the divx avi to a mpeg2 using tmpgenc 2.5 with a 3:2 pulldown so it'll play at 29.97 fps. My problem is that when I import the assets into DVD Maestro I get a wierd issue with the ac3 tracks.

Below are the times I've compiled from various programs
AC3= AC3 Delay Corrector
MP = Media player classic
DVD = DVD maestro

AC3 MP DVD
MOVIE 1:24:29 1:58:21:02
TRACK2 1:58:24:99 1:58:24 1:58:17:27
TRACK3 1:58:27:10 1:58:27 1:58:20:00

My prob is that there will be an obvious skew in the audio. But i'm not sure what value to use in the ac3 delay corrector to try and sync my project.

Help Plz!

Assuming no errors in transcoding, & IMO, best to preview or render a DVD layout to see how things sync up. If audio starts early, note the time it should start & use that as starting point (may have to fine tune a bit thru trial & error). Same if video needs a delay.

The times to the far right are comparible to differences I've seen on some DVDs. Assuming ac3 tracks are unaltered from orig. & time figures are correct, if you're lucky any extra time at the end is an over-run, will be empty & not effect anything. If you're not so lucky, shorter time from ...:17:27 to ...21:02 might reflect orig intro, & I'd try 1st delaying ac3 by the difference between the 2. If you're really unlucky, 1st ac3 might have both initial delay & end before or after video.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll keep beating this thing with a stick and see if that helps
