Hi,

I'm pretty much new to this so if any one can help me it would be great. I want to make copies of dvd's that i own for my kids ( cos they tend to get scratched alot) and can't seem to get them to play once I've burned them the program I have is NTI CD-DVD Maker and Power Producer Gold both standard with my laptop. Is this the right software to be using or should I have something like Nero? I also have DVD Shrink. My operating system is Windows XP, Home Edition, Service Pack 2, Version 2002. If I have to use something like Nero is there any freeware as good as Nero or is Nero the best thing to get?

Thanks a bunch :thanks:

Download dvdshrink and dvddecrypter, they are all you need to backup dvd movies.
Then prepare for some reading.

I use dvddecrypter or dvdfab decrypter to rip to my hard drive (dvdshrink won't handle the newer sony copy protection). use dvdshrink to compress from your hard drive. you can d/l and install the trial version of nero and this will allow you to use dvdshrink to burn using nero in the backgound or save the compressed output from dvdshrink to an iso and burn the iso with dvddecrypter. these are all free excellent programs
