Hi guys. Just a quick question. How do I know that procoder is doing 2 passes/ I simply installed procoder and set the location of the ECL I need for procoder in DVD-RB, do I need to set up any settings within procoder itself?

Also procoder would be better to use than CCE for the Sopranos right? Thing is the "typical" bitrate that DVD-RB calculates is 2.259 which is pretty low. Any1 tried to back sopranos up and get a higher bitrate? Any suggestions, or should I just back it up as a divx or something? (By the way im working on season one disc one right now). Thanks everyone for your time and help.

I personaly use Procoder for most of my backups. I like the quality I get for most anything, but it works most impressively for interleaved sources. I have yet to try CCE because I already spent the money on Procoder so I use HC as my secondary as I have heard it is quite a good encoder and I have never been unhappy with the results.

As far as knowing if procoder is doing 2 passes, I believe that it does so by default. You can see in the progress bar if you have preview enabled that about half way through it will go blank for just a second then start the same segment over again, usualy at a lower speed.

Hope this helps. :)
