Converting DVDs To AVIs Guide

First of all, I apologize for my ignorance. I know it's right in front of me somewhere, I just can't find it. I've tried searching for it, but came up empty. I need a step-by-step guide for converting VOB files to AVI. Everytime, either the quality comes up poor, or it doesn't come out with audio. So can someone please help me out with this?

I didn't point that out because all of them don't output AVIs, e.g: Nero Digital outputs only MP4. :)

Well, if you had checked inside this (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/xvid-guides.htm), you would have seen this (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/autogk.htm), and it can't get any simpler. Did you even look properly before denouncing them?

Use DVD Decrypter in IFO mode and then AutoGordianKnot (there is full instruction on AutoGK site) http://www.autogk.me.uk/
