Hi, i hope I aint double posting newhere here, but i couldnt really find a thread of help.
The situation is, afta ripping the dvd (with robot4rip) encode to xvid (with ESS support and bit rate spike control enabled). Everything works fine on the comp, copy to dvd and put into XMS-888 playa, and generally only 3/5 movies work, sumtimes the dvd player ejects the dvd. Anyone have any idea wats wrong?

Also to note, i dont have any log files, and havnt made any more files since they didnt work (so i got 20movies sitting on my comp atm), also, the dvds that eject from the player, do run fine on the computer, so im thinking it could be the dvd player? either that, or the way im ripping it, is not DVD player supported?

Looks like a player problem to me. Try checking the media for errors reading an ISO from it. Also check the sizes of the files. Some players have limits on how big the file can be.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

When you say that 3/5ths of the encodes work ... what happens with the other 2/5ths? Does the player not recognize them? Do you have audio trouble -- no sound, or sound sync trouble? What firmware release are you using?

The reason I ask these questions is that it appears that there are a variety of problems that have been fixed by firmware. See the hardware player database at www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers for more info.

There could also be a burner/media incompatibility, if you're using DVD media you should check those in the other databases:

thank you, with the other 2/5ths ,they just skip altogether, either WONT PLAY and skip to next movie, OR if they do load, the movie doesnt have audio/visuals, but the timeframe skips really really fast, like @ 3x speed.
firmware was the latest one released, cant remember now, but yeah i did update it
