I use Nero 6.6.0.0 to burn data on a DVD. I want it to be multisession, so I can add more data later.

When I do this, I got a warning that DVD multisession is only available on Windows XP. I choose "Burn multisession anyway" because I use Windows XP.

The burn process when smooth.

I can read the disc content without any problem from several other computers.

However, if I add more data, the new added data cant be read except from the DVD burner drive it self.

Is this normal? I use 8x DVD+R disc, and I burn at 4x speed.

Is there any other reliable dvd burner software that can guarantee 100% success for dvd data multisession?

Or, is there any tips/tricks to make it work ?

Thanks.

I've tried DVD multisession many times, at home and work, using RecordNow and Nero. At some point on the DVD, it just won't add data, even if well below the 4GB limitation.

So, I just create a folder, and when it gets near 4GB, I just dump it onto the DVD and close the disk.

From my experience, software just does a lousy job at DVD multisession.

Multi-session uses more disc space for storing 4GB than a one session 4GB burn uses, in fact the more sessions you burn, the more space you lose to header information etc etc.
