I use Avi2Dvd to encode a .avi movie to a DVd. However, I run into this prblem every time I use HCbatch 0.15 beta, which came along with Avi2Dvd v0.3.1 beta.

it said:
HCbatch 0.15 beta - by hank315: HCbat.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x08398bfc" referenced memory at "0x083c3828". The memory could not "read". Click on OK to terminate the progam.

After I click on OK, Avi2Dvd continues to author the DVD; however, the DVD_image is only 1/4 the length of the actual movie.

What the hell is going on?
neeed help please.

I see same problem reported in KVCD.net
Take a look at screen shot:

That error is not related with HC, but with another thing that I don't know what is it. It happends to me with PowerDVD, when it closes.
I did search internet but I couldn't find anything.
Maybe some friend here can help us.

It is not a HC Encoder issue. If not why headac3he gave you same error.
Also I have same error with batch encoding with FreeEnc 0.44.
I think is a XP problem (and MS still don't solved it) .

Yes you were right! I performed a format and a clean install. At the moment I have only: windows xp pro + sp2 + firefox 1.0.6 + XviD + ZoomPlayer + Getright + Adobe Encore DVD

And.. Surprise! *NO* problems detected !

That is very good. Because the program is perfect at all. Now we have the proof!

But. I have no Idea of the program that was conflicting as before =/

best regards

Yes I've seen this reported a couple of times and as prodater already said I'm not sure it's HC related.
I never got this error and believe me I probably ran most tests of all :)

Could you give some info about your hardware and OS please.

@hacbao
Your system is about the same as mine and I never get this error, that's why it's hard to solve it.

As mentioned in the HC thread, installing the Helix YUV Codec seems to fix the problem. The people I talked to had XVID 1.02 handling the YUV Video and the error occured but it disappeared after installing the Helix Codec. You can grab the Helix Codec here (http://www.lillevold.com/files/yuvcodecs-1.2.exe) .

I just wanted to know out of curiosity if installing the Helix Codec changed anything.
