WinXP 64 and RB?

Does anyone run RB on WinXP 64?
Does it multi-task any better?
I often do lite tasks while encoding and even those can be slowed
way down while running RB.
Eventually I will get an X2 CPU. When they come down in cost and get a little faster.

While I am at it is any part of RB capable of running 64 bit? I doubt it, but no harm in asking.

As of yet, no 64 bit support in RB, or more importantly, in any of the encoders.

I've done lots of encodes on XP x64 with no problems using cce 2.70.02. It actually does work faster than on 32 bit windows...at least for me.

I can't really tell you. I'm running a dual core chip so my experience wouldn't be the norm.

thats why its faster in windows xp 64bit due to dual core chip. have you tested the 32bix windows xp with dual core too? because dual core processors plays a big role when it comes to encoding

Actually the comparison was done on my laptop with a 64 bit chip. It had 32 bit and 64 bit windows on it and the 64 bit windows was a weee bit faster. Although I have not tried multitasking on it.

I have WinXP 64 bit with a single core amd athlon64 3000+ cpu. I find that the speeds are pretty much very similar to WinXP 32 bit. As for multiprocessing, I never do anything more cpu intensive then surf the net while Im encoding, so I can't really say too much on the matter, but I find that XP 64 bit may be a little better with the multiprocessing. Essentially everything is the same, which is actually rather cool when you consider your running 32 bit apps on a 64 bit machine/os in an emulated environment (albeit hardware emulation).

I really can't say enough good things about AMD's 64 bit architecture. Blows Intel out of the water so far.
