View Full Version : dual layer break problem

Made a project in meastro (a concert recorded from tv), put a layer break between two songs. Compiled it and made an image.
Burned it with dvddecrypter and when i play the disc it gets to about three and a half minutes before the layerbreak, freezes up and continues at the layerbreak.
Have tried the disc in my standalone (pioneer 444) and the burner (nec nd-6500a), same results.
The media is Traxdata dvd+r dl.
Anyone got any clues to what the problem might be ??

Probably a problem with the layer break position. Did you specified the layer break position manually in the DVDD setups?
My advice: use PgcEdit's burn function. Works well for +R DLs, and even for -Rs, although I don't recommend using -Rs.

Ahhhh !!
Didn't know about the settings in dvddecrypter, i thought the layer break was embedded in the .img
Changed the settings in dvddecrypter and now it works fine.
Thanks alot for the help.

The problem is that you must know the absolute sector number of the layer break position in the final DVD (or in the ISO image, if you burn an ISO).
You may burn your DVD with PgcEdit. It will ask where you want to place the layer break (selecting the position you have already defined in scenarist by default), and arrange the files in the ISO so that the layer break cell is correctly placed at a valid position, and take care of the sector number parameter to pass to DVD Decrypter for you. Easy!
(PgcEdit uses MkISOFS and DVD Decrypter to burn the DVD-Video files.)
