I have an ATI AIW 9800 Pro which is hooked up to my 57" Hitatchi HDTV via Component (Using the HDTV adapter provided with card). I also have a LCD LiquidVideo 17" monitor hooked up via VGA (Using the DVI2VGA adapter).
I am trying to use them in Clone mode so Overlay will work. I need video to show up on HDTV and desktop on monitor. I can not get both screens to not have overscan issues in Clone Mode. 1104x636 is what the TV likes best, but the monitor only shows about 1/4 of the screen.
I'm using latest Catalyst Control Center.

My LCD monitor, like I said, is only VGA. Would I get better luck if I bought a DVI LCD? Does anybody here have this video card hooked up to HDTV and LCD hooked up in Clone mode using component cables with NO overscan issues? If so, what Monitor are you using?

As far as I know, clone mode requires the monitor output to be the same as the TV output. That means your monitor HAS to support TV sync rates. Depending on the monitor, you may see strange things due to the sync being out of range. Many monitors will simply show nothing.

This might not be the case... it's been a couple years since I tried clone mode.
