So I can easily do this conversion for myself but the trick is I am trying to figure out the easiest way for my friend to do it.
First step to remove DRM is using graphedit with an elecart demuxer to take the .tivo and spit out an svcd mpeg 2 stream and an mpa stream. This step is absolutely mandatory far as I know and I have already taught her this. Hopefully that is the worst of it.
Now she also wants to take out the commercials which is a problem since it brings into play a bunch of programs I dont want to make her use. I know VirtualDubMod can open the MPEG2 and I can take out the commercials. Trick is to get it from MPEG2... take out commercials...into TMPEGEnc. Do I just frame serve with VirtualDubMod? Can I get VDubMod to spit out and AVS? Ideas? I know there are MPEG2 editors but they all cost a lot right?
