Hi,
After experimenting, searching, reading and the like, I haven't been able to figure out how to compress video from dvb-t for storage on a dvd (as standard dvd format) as I'd like to and I was hoping it wouldn't be too much trouble for persons more knowledgeable to maybe give a tip. So here's the situation:
I'd like to take the video files from the Nebula dvb-t card I'm using and put them onto DVD's for archiving. For authoring, it makes the most sense for me to use Sonics's MyDVD, as it came with the computer software package I have. I realise that there are plenty of good options for compressing video using other formats (divx, xvid, etc., etc.) but for ease of use for myself and friends, I would like to stick with the DVD standard.
The quality of the video and audio from the card is not bad, but I think also not so good that it makes a big difference in any case. Compression would be nice to fit more on a disc and for not leaving empty space on one.
Having a process that can be accomplished in as few steps as possible and as quickly as possible is more important than quality of the video/audio.
Ideally, there would be a way to compress the .mpg files that the tv card puts out, but I have not found this tool yet (and do not know if it is at all feasible to do this). Barring that, any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance,
HP
