Hello everybody!
I'm having a hard time trying to watch some WMV HD-content. FYI they're from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/content_provider/film/ContentShowcase.aspx
I have 2 main problems:
1) The audio is out of sync
2) One of the files (Taxi3) is displayed with a wrong AR (1,85:1 instead of 2,35:1)
The files I'm trying to watch is T2@720p and Taxi3@1080p. I've tried playing them in Windows XP on the same machine, and they work fine.
CPU usage is ~50% for T2 and ~80% for Taxi 3 in both windows and Linux (that is with xv enabled in Linux, before that it was really sluggish).
As for codecs I'm using the "w32codecs" package from the ubuntu repositories, version 20050216.
I use mplayer to play the files, but the same problems occurs with xine. I use xorg 6.8.2 and ALSA with dmix.
Here's a tar with my xorg.conf, asound.conf and mplayer.conf: ] http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload2/configs_doom9.tar.gz
Does anyone know a solution to this problem?
EDIT: My comps specs are
Sempron 2600+ s754@3300+
512mb RAM
Radeon 9600 Pro
Realtek ALC850 7.1 integrated sound

Hi

Try using the newer codecs direct from Mplayer HQ:

http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/dload.html

You will see the essentials as well as addditional :) IHTH
