View Full Version : Embedding Subtitles in DivX

Hello everyone, let me start off by saying, I'm currently using: http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/dvd2divx5_gordianknot.html as a guide for putting my anime into a divx file.

Anyways, the deal is, I've got how to put it all into a nice shiny divx file, and it turns out pretty good, except for the fact that there are no subtitles. Now, this is only one episode, so it's pretty much my waste-of-time practice episode that I don't really care if I have to start over on.

So, I've got a vob (Starting) and a ssa file (With textsub commands in it). Basically I need to end up with an avi that's around 200MB, good quality, with the subtitles embedded, and one audio track. How am I going to pull off this amazing feat with the least amount of work possible? (As I said, I don't have any problems putting the vob directly to DivX, but the subtitles need to get into there somehow, and they have TextSub commands, so I need to somehow get those in there too)

Thanks
VZ

(you should use the subtitle tab)

Urh... I don't think Gknot supports Textsub, does it? I'd use it if it did, but I don't think it does.

EDIT: I figured it out. All I had to do was uncomment the VSFilter plugin line, and add "TextSub("English.ssa")" in there as well, works like a charm. Danke.
