can i encode dvd to Ateme H.264 with gknot? where can i get the codec? if its in nero express then should i have to install the software all the time to watch the encoded file? is it possible to play the encoded file with wmp 9 or media player classic? is there anyother directshow filter to watch the encoded file? a lot of question... plz waste sometime to answer the questions and please provide some related info if u think i should know.

Unless Ateme h.264 is something different than what comes with Gordian Knot, you should be able to encode and play back the files with any media player. XviD encodes with h.264 by default.

Erm, thats h.263 (MPEG4 ASP) not h.264 (MPEG4 AVC) !!!

You can get Atemes AVC encoder/decoder as part of the Nero software suite. Instead of GKnot you have to use the bundled "Recode" to encode your movies. Playback should work in all MediaPlayers after installing the bundled "ShowTime" player. Well, a free alternative would be x264 (encoding) and ffdshow (decoding).
