How about one forum that's simply a 'hotlist' of specific titles? The person starting a thread would start it with the title as the subject line, then everyone working on that same title could discuss it there until it is finally accomplished. After that, new visitors could go there and see what steps are required.

For example, I'd start a new thread with the subject line:

Farewell My Concubine

Then I'd tell about the software I've tried and the error messages & results I've gotten. Others could learn from my mistakes, so to speak, and finally someone would manage to get the job done and tell in that same thread how it was done. A powerful reference library would grow.

I think this would be a valuable resource, a clearinghouse of discussions of tough-to-copy specific titles.

Sounds like a cheat sheet thread.

People do many different kinds of backups/conversions with DVDs. I think it's better the way it is now, where the problems with a specific title are discussed in the forum relating to the method used.

Fair enough. Meantime, this should serve:

As soon as I get my two current headaches cracked, I'll add them.
