I have CCE 2.50.01, when DVD2SVCD get to the video encoding part I get a file handler not found error and program stopes, I opened CCE manually and looked for files in my DVD2SVCD working directory and could find none that CCE supports, what gives, am I missing some kind of plug-in for CCE?

:D
I think problem lies in Virtualdub
Go to VDub folder and click on AUXSETUP, and the Install handler.
This should solve your problem:D

I just got DVD2SVCD yesterday and today tested it using my MI2 DVD. Got to the same point (CCE) and had the same error. I'm not sure about virtualdub because I don't even have that... I don't know what it is. I ran a HD search for vdub and auxsetup but nothing came up. I don't know why this error happens.

Hope somebody has an answer. :)

I have Vdub but I don't think that the program is even used in dvd2svcd so how could that effect it?

In answer to what is vdub, it is an avi video capture program with some very usefull avi tools.

You should install the avisynth 0.3 and register it.
therefor you'll have to copy the avisynth.dll into the c:\windows\system and start register.reg.

if think it should run after that!

I tried it on other machines in my house, one started the CCE encode but got some error part way through (can't remember where exactly). However, I tried on ANOTHER and it worked! (Only a 37 sec clip but it did!) I'm not sure why there was an error on the second machine but I think mine was because of some faulty DirectX beta stuff I've got. I was going to format and reinstall (proly today) and hopefully it will work after that! I'll let you know if that solves MY problem.

For background, I get an error when I try to do ANYTHING DirectX related. So, I sat through the process for the 37sec clip on my machine and got that error at the CCE point, I had looked away for a sec and turned around to close it (stuff still works after I close the error) and it had gotten the file handle problem twice but I closed the popup and it went on. I still got an error in CCE but I am SURE that is from my DX problem. Check and see if anything is interfering with the running of DVD2SVCD. That was my problem.

Thanks, I still get my DX errors but once I reinstall I'll post back and hopefully have good news. Thanks!

Well, upon a reinstall of 2000 everything seems just peachy. I've had a few problems, (not related to SVCD stuff) but other than that everything seems fine. The only thing I ran into was an auth_call.exe error which was quickly remedied by a forceaspi install. (Who knew Win2K didn't have ASPI?) Well, now everything seems to be just fine. DVD2SVCD runs all the way through and everything seems ok. I wish I didn't have to reinstall for it to works but it was about time anyway. ;) Well, I wish you good luck in finding solutions to your own problems.
