I ripped an MPEG-1 off from a VCD(DAT) and then opened it in VirtualDubMoD.
I get the following warning:

That is fine^^. I have seen it quite often and as the warning message suggests it could be an improper join which resulted when the VCD was authored. I wasn't worried there.
But the resolution reported by VirtualDubMoD is 352x8480 instead of 352x288. :/

Not sure why this happens. If I cut a sample out of it (even starting with the same frame) and then open it in VirtualDubMoD, this issue isn't there (so no point in uploading a sample anywhere).

I scanned the video stream for errors using VirtualDubMoD, but got a clean report.
