Can it play odml-avi? and what does it mean, that it can play "Advanced simple profile (640-480)" ... I know this profile from Xvid, but what is (640-480)?

OpenDML is some type of avi standart, search google for openDML to find out all you want to know (e.g h++p://www.the-labs.com/Video/odmlff2-avidef.pdf) and ASP is the standart the codec follows, XviD, DivX5/6 are all ASP codecs. The manual said something about max Resolution of 640x480 but I tested some avis with 670x??? and the 112 firmware successfully, but I don't know the exact numbers anymore.
A cool device you have :D

Thnx I think so too, it has played everything I've thrown at it so far :)
Thnx for the reply. I've been using the "DXN HT PAL" profile but should I use "Advanced simple profile" instead, which is better. Or should I go to the Xvid forum and ask about that?

With regard to ASP implementations. Don't forget the Vibratto II chip-set does not support Qpel.

guess you are right here. I own the 630 too and the DXN HT profiles work fine. They are ASP too but block out some features not supported by DivX Certified players like QPel and the XviD GMC. If you wanna encode for watching at the 630 use the HT profile and you could activate all supported features, I even had no problems with packed bitstream (but nevertheless I leave off).
@SeeMoreDigital:
I thought the DVP630 was ESS based :confused:
EDIT:
OK, question awnsered, I found it :D

I thought the DVP630 was ESS based :confused:Yes... it uses the ESS Vibratto II chip-set.... Just like all these other stand-alone players (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=645982#post645982) ;)

I found one discussion about difficulties with odml-avi's when using avimuxgui, but it was not an issue when using vdub to mux. Can't remember where I saw it but will try to find it.
