Hello
I have 1 track containing 3 files and want chapter 1 to be from the third file. I deleted all chapters of the first and second file, but when i click ok and go to chapter cut edit again, a chapter at 00:00:00:00 is again created automatically. Is it possible to do this with TMPGEnc DVD Author?
Just delete the chapter. Right mouse click on it and choose delete will do.

That's what i did but TMPGEnc creates it again.

You cannot delete the first chapter, it is the start of the movie. But you said you removed all the audio/video before the chapter you want, so the chapter you want now becomes chapter 1, at time 00:00:00.00
Or maybe I misunderstood the first time I read this. When you delete a chapter it does not remove any of the movie, just deletes an index to a point in the movie. What you want to do is shorten the movie.

I want to delete the first chapter TMPGEnc creates. I will still have chapters. I might have explained myself wrong.
This is an example. I have 3 videos with audio, A, B and C in 1 track. I want no chapters for A and B but 8 chapters for C. TMPGEnc automatically creates a chapter at 00:00:00:00 for A, B and C. I deleted the chapters from A and B but it is re-creating a chapter for file A. I want it to play A, B and C on enter pressed but starts from C if chapter 1 is selected. I don't know if it is possible to permanently delete the chapter for file A. I hope this is clearer.

What you want to do is not possible as one title. A title always has a chapter 1 at time 00:00:00.00
Only the chapters after that can be created or deleted.

A possible workaround would be to display only chapter 3 on the menu, but call it chapter 1. When selected it would start playing clip C.

Good idea, digidragon. I didn't think about it. Thanks.

I have 1 track containing 3 files and want chapter 1 to be from the third file.I'm trying to visualize your DVD. Even though your title flow is Clip1 > Clip 2 > Clip 3, you want to start at Clip 3 when you press your play button? What's the two first clips about that you have to get rid of their chapters? Just curious.

2Cool,
When play is pressed i want it to play clip 1, 2 and 3. Only when chapter 1 is selected, it starts from file 3. File 1 and 2 are like trailers.

I was thinking about the above and i am wondering about two things when the dvd is played on a set top player.
1. If i display only chapter 3 and i press 1 on the remote control, i think that chapter 1 (the hidden chapter) will show up not chapter 3.
2. If chapter 3 is playing but i called it chapter 1, i think that on the set top player it will display that chapter 3 is playing and not 1.
Am i right? I hope i explained myself well. Is there a workaround for this?

I don't think so, as TMPGEnc automatically allocates a chapter at the start of each clip. You could join the three clips first, and then drag the joined clip into TDA, but as far as I know, the DVD specs state that every title must have a chapter at 00:00:00, so I think that you're stuck with a chapter 1 at the start of the joined clip.
Unless you're determined to use TDA, you could always try DVD Lab, which gived you much more flexibility with order of playback etc...

I think this is true as i tried every option but were all unsuccessful. I was wondering to use your suggestion and re-number the chapters with PgcEdit or VobEdit or something similar. Once i saw a thread about this. I will search around to see if it is possible.
I use TDA as it is very quick and easy to author. I once tried DVD Lab but i got lost.
