I have a script that I want to import into Sony Vegas Video for editing, but as you know, most NLE editors cannot open .avs scripts. I tried to wrap my script into a pseudo-avi using Link2 Shareware version but it can't import the audio and it only can render at 5fps being shareware and all. Is there a free tool that can do what I need?

Try VFAPI. Open .AVS script and wrap to AVI. You can find VFAPI at doom9.org-support utils.

Or you can open the .AVS file in Wax and Frameserve to Vegas.
go http://www.debugmode.com/frameserver/
All these software are free.

I cannot get VFAPI to open any .avs files. When you go to Add Job, it only accepts.d2v or .tpr files. Dragging-N-Dropping .avs files onto the VFAPI screen does not work either.

You need to put ReadAVS.dll (see WarpEnterprises page to get it) in the same folder (as vfapi), or perhaps you should register it i forgot ...

DGVfapi from the DGMPGDec package can wrap AVS scripts as well as D2V files.

If anyone is still wondering howto do use the vfapi on a .avs i did it like this.
Put ReadAVS.dll in the vfapi directory
ran this command
rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection vifp.inf,DefaultInstall (this is in a .bat file in the vfapi zipfile)
Started VFAPIConv.exe and then i could select .avs files to convert too =)
works like a charm with my AFX 6.5 so far.
