Hi guys.

I purchased this set up from Dell back in August and boy is it a pain in the you know what to get working. At the time I didn't really know anything about computers and due to billing reasons I was able to get anything I wanted but it had to be one on bill and Dell seemed to offer the best prices.

I can't get live TV to playback properly. The analog channels are fine, but when trying to watch channels that are digital broadcasts like HBO the picture jumps and its really annoying. All of these problems lead me to believe that my setup sucks for this and I should do away with Media Center as an option and buy another card and use their software.

Basically I just want to record boxing matches (about an hour long) and keep them as a collection on disks and share them with friends.

I just want to know what the consensus is on this setup and if anyone knows anything about it, and maybe a sit that offers comparisons on the different cards out there.

Thanks.

The ehome is an analog capture card, and, as such, this thread should be moved to the analog capture forum.

mack,

If your running the coaxial cable straight into your ehome, all your going to recieve is the analog channels.

if you want to capture a sdtv "digital" channel you're going to have to do so via s-video from a stb to your ehome.

I don't pay particular attention to MCE, so I can't help you there, but perhpaps others familar with its capabilities may provide assistance there. You may also want to check out the capture cards section of htpcnews.com or the htpc forum at avsforums or the greenbutton (MCE user forum).

Good luck.
