failed at 4X... second chance at 2x ?

hi,

my question is simple.

I have a lot of coasters (burning failed
at 4x at about 12% each time)

Are these dvd-r definitively dead or
may I write again on them on the
remaining space (88 %) ?

I'd like to try to burn them at 2X this time

Unless they are DVD-RW+RW you get no second chances.

Also, you may want to try a different make of DVD as you are having so many coasters.
