Hi.

I have access to ALOT of commercial DVDs (not ripped). I need to test these to see if they are damaged beyond what you can see with the naked eye.

Damaged = won't play correctly in a standard DVD player.

Can anyone point me to sample source code that will test (maybe by doing sector reads or something) the quality of a standard, commercially encrypted DVD?

Thanks!
Dave

If you want to make sure the dvd is still readable, just rip it with a good ripper. If it has errors, they will show up.

If you want to know if they can be played without dropouts, use nero CD-DVD speed. This is a tool to see how fast a dvd can be read. If the speed go's below 1x your in trouble, maybe even below 2x since pc dvd-roms are usualy better then standalones.

If you want to make your own program...... i dont have a clue
